In 1881 James Boag built a brewery on the banks of the Esk River in Launceston, Tasmania. He was devoted to brewing beer with great care and determined to make the best tasting beer in Australia. Today, we are dedicated to carry on this tradition of excellence. We have used Tasmania's finest ingredients with an extended lagering process in order to create a beer with rich flavour and an especially smooth finish. James Boags's Premium is our commitment to the Boags legacy.
In 1996 Australia'a liquor, hotel and restaurant industry awarded James Boag's premium lager the title of 'Australia'a Best Premium Beer'. A title which has been confirmed again by the beer's performance in the 'World's Best Beers' competition held by industry leading Winestate Magazine in Adelaide.
